The gate man of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve Roop Lal Verma, who had filed a written complaint against Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi for slapping him, has withdrawn his complaint against the minister. Roop Lal said here today that he was withdrawing the complaint as his grievances were addressed by the Minister after she talked to him yesterday. SHO of Gajraula police station Ashok Budhpriya too confirmed about the withdrawal of the police complaint against the Minister.The controversy took political turn after BJP’s Pilibhit unit announced to take up the matter with the party’s national president Amit Shah.
Sources here said that, statement of BJP’s district president against his own Member of Parliament (MP) (Ms Gandhi) was said to be an important substance in the matter. It is also said that many party workers are also agitated due to the alleged act of Ms Gandhi. State Forest Department too supported the gate man on the matter.Roop Lal on March 11 alleged that Ms Gandhi slapped and kicked him, after seeing fire in the Jungle.
