A man has formed an incredible friendship with a Bengal tiger.

A series of pictures have been released showing Abdullah Sholeh in close contact with the 28-stone tiger in Malang, Indonesia.

One of the astonishing images shows the female tiger, Mulan Jamilah, licking the 33-year-old’s face at the Islamic school where they are both staying.

Mr Sholeh grew close to the animal after becoming her full time carer when she was donated to the religious institution at three months old.

Mulan is now six-years-old, one metre tall and three metres in length.

Mr Sholeh also sleeps beside his tiger friend, although metal bars have been put in place to separate the pair.
